Our new home

Well, we made the long trip up North. The drive was very long. We took three days to get here, a little less than 20 hours driving total. Considering the long, boring days, Jacob travelled very well. I am glad though to finally be here, and get back onto a schedule. Above is the apartment that we will live in temporarily until we can buy a house here. Our apartment is the second story patio on the right hand side. You can see our truck in the parking lot on the right. As you can see, there isn't that much snow here anymore. The weather is actually very mild. Everything is very wet and muddy though because of all the melting snow. The next few pictures are of the inside of the apartment. We are squishing everything into a one bedroom apartment, but it seems to work. All three of us are sharing a bedroom. So far it is working out just fine. My main complaint right now is that I havent been able to do a load of laundry because there is always someone else using it.
This is the bedroom that the three of us share.

Kitchen, dining room, entry door is on the left.

Living room, door to patio.
You may wonder why the door is open and Jacob is only wearing a onesie. They keep the heat in the apartment hallway so hot, that it heats the apartment so much. Our heat is off, and we are just cooking in here. And you all thought we would be cold!
It has been a nice transition for us. Jason has not gone back to work yet, so we have worked together to unpack and get settled. He will go back to work tomorrow, and they say that they should be able to keep him fairly busy. I will go and check out the Alliance church on Sunday, and hopefully we can find some other things to do during the week.
Hope you're all enjoying the Okanagan sun. We miss you all already.
Love you!!!!!!!!!!!

Erin, It was really sad thinking about you guys moving away and I miss our mommy days too, but we know you won't be up north forever...
We hope you, Jason and Jacob are happy now that you can be together as a family full time and I'm positive that if Fort Nelson has friends to be made, you'll make friends quickly...My only tip is if you see someone/people standing by a burning barrel, stay away (tip from Hedley days!) Keep us posted on how your doing!

Wow - looks like you have lots to keep you busy until you find a new home! Apartments can be fun... HA - Jacob should have fun just exploring all the new things.

Wish we could have seen you before you left but will be thinking of you often and checking in on the blog!

Glad you made it safe and that you are settling in. Hopefully the miles between us will increase the amount we chat. The blog was a great idea. We will keep checking!
