Nothing better to do...

Up north there is nothing better to do that sit around in a laundry basket. Just kidding! We've actually been trying to get out of the house everyday. The weather has been great (about 16-18 everyday). The only problem with that is that the bugs are now starting to come out. Nothing major yet, but I can imagine what is about to come.
We went to the Alliance church on Sunday. The service was incredibly boring, but there were so many people our age there. They say the service is not usually like that, so we will try again on Sunday. Today, Jacob and I went swimming at the pool. The schedule said it was parent and tot time, so I thought I might meet some young moms. Nope! There was one girl with a 4 year old, and then an elementary school class doing swimming lessons. I did find out that there is a park not too far away, so I guess I'll have to hang out there to meet people.
My other thought was to possibly get on a sublist for some daycares in town. Turns out there is only 3 daycares here, and I think they are all family ones in peoples home. Maybe that is a reason that I am here. To start up a quality child care centre. That would be a great way for me to meet people. It is something I would need to think about and research because I dont want to work full time and I still want to come home as often as possible.
Anyway, that's what's happening here. I hope you are all doing well.
Bye for now.

It is awesome that you are getting out and about. I don't think I would have the courage to do a whole lot on my own...too shy!! So when are you getting onto msn? Love and hugs for now!!!

good for you Erin, I'd be aggressively hunting down any person with a child if I was there! I think starting up a daycare would be fab if it's feasible! Do they have a community center there? Or a health center that might have parent programs?

Actually Jen, they did have a rec centre here until a few weeks ago when the roof collapsed. It will probably take a while until it is fixed. I dont know if there is a health centre. That would be a good place to look for parent programs.

I just talked to you on messenger, but I thought I'd write a message as well... We miss having you here, this summer is going to be especially hard.. It's tough seeing pictures and knowing that you are so far away, and the cousins can't play together! Talk to you soon!! Love you guys!!
